| What kind of band is The Jam Bones? |
We're basically a good-time family-friendly Party Band having a strong dose of R&B, Oldies, Blues,
and good old Rock and Roll. We are great fun loving players who can jam and entertain. We think of it as
a "Retro Jam and Party Group" as do many of our happy establishments and patrons.
You'll just have to come out and hear some of our "Jammin' Good Times!"!
|
| So is the band considered a "Jam Band"? |
The Jam Bones are strong players who know how to entertain audiences on a diverse yet fun set of material like many
of the great Jam Bands. Improvisation is an important part of our music - and you can hear that distinctly in our original material.
Our "cover" formula focuses on long-forgotten gems as well as all-time popular tunes where we spin our own "personal touch" on them.
Call it what you will, it's entertainment, good times, and great music.
|
| Who's in the band? |
The Jam Bones band consists of original band founder Rich Walikis (gtr/vox), CR Stewart (drums/vox), and Drew Hall (bass) . This is a hot lineup! Be sure to catch a show asap!
|
| What can you tell me about your most recent CD? |
We decided we wanted to put together an even hotter album that our debut CD. We spent months
writing some absolutely amazing material and we recently recorded it at Subcat Studios under the direction of sound engineer
Derek Yackel. Released in January 2008, "New Recipe" is an all-original 12-song disk that spans Blues, Reggae, Rock, Jazz, and more!
|
| Why do you have so many songs? |
We have boatloads of songs and continue to work on more! If you look closely at our set list, you'll see that we have a lot of styles
in multiple genres - that is so we can play all sorts of events. Now remember, we are very strong players, so not only
do we play these multiple styles, we play them well. If we are playing an Oldies Event, we pull from our Oldies list - if it's a
Jam Festival, we improvise and open up all the music, if it is a Blues Festival, we pull from our Blues set - same goes for weddings,
frat parties, dances, Rock clubs, etc... That's our niche and it works very well for us! This also keeps each show fresh
by not repeating the same set or style over and over like some other groups.
|
| What kinds of venues/events can the Jam Bones do? |
The Jam Bones is well-suited to play clubs, festivals, concerts, private parties, wedding
receptions, clam bakes, cruise-ships, campgrounds, you name it! Remember, the group is a very adaptable
band and will play appropriate music for the event. If you book us, you can be assured your event will be handled in the best professional
manner. For more information, simply send an email to us.
|
| What's the bands official policy on taping the shows? |
Video and audio taping of Jam Bones shows is permitted unless taping is contrary to the venue,
promoter, or other artist's guidelines. There is no designated taping section at Jam Bones shows nor is direct access
to the soundboard feed available at this time. We encourage respectful taping of shows.
|
| Do you take Requests? |
We can take 'em or leave 'em. Just Kidding - sure we take requests, but you have to remember that we are a small group! So, asking for something
by the Electric Light Orchestra, for instance, probably won't work out too well - but we'll try anything!
